Find an authority, Board or Commission Where You Can Get Civically Involved
Individuals who serve on boards or commissions are volunteers. There is no guarantee that, because an individual expresses interest in a board or commission, they will be placed on that body.
The City of Norwalk reviews applications on an ongoing basis and we encourage interested candidates to submit their applications at any time. We carefully evaluate each submission to identify candidates who are the best fit for our boards and commissions and who also satisfy the below criteria for appointment:
- Must be a registered voter in the City of Norwalk
- No more than 2/3 of a board or commission's members may be registered in the same political party per State Law
- Must satisfy any other criteria set forth in the ordinance creating the board or commission
- Must possess experience or skills in the issue area addressed by the board or commission
